STUDENT KILL IN FRENCH SCHOOL STABBING ATTACK

On April 24, 2025, a tragic stabbing occurred at Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Aides, a private Catholic high school in Nantes, France. A 15-year-old student, identified as Justin P., fatally stabbed a female classmate and injured three others during lunch break. Teachers subdued the attacker before police arrived. Authorities have ruled out terrorism, suggesting the incident stemmed from a student conflict. The suspect had a history of depression and reportedly sent an email to students expressing societal grievances. He had no prior police record. The school was evacuated and is under police and military guard. Education Minister Élisabeth Borne and Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau are scheduled to visit the site. A psychiatric evaluation will determine the suspect's criminal responsibility. Psychological support is being provided to students and families.
